Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before him. God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8 CSB

Listening to the evening meditation from Lectio 365 , an app on my phone, I heard one of the speakers pour out her heart in a free-flowing prayer to the Lord. That picture of total abandon and transparency—not holding anything back from Jesus—resonated with me. This morning, I just “happened” to come across Psalm 62:8!

Who doesn’t want to unload all their fears and pain to someone without fear of being shamed? That is what God invites us to do throughout the Bible.

Encouraged by God’s invitation to speak freely, I confessed some of my worries and struggles out loud to Him during my early morning patio time. But I know there is still much to reveal to Him, matters of my heart I’m not even aware of.

Father, help me discover what’s in my heart—the yuck as well as my hopes. Continue to remind me and invite me to offer each piece to You as evidence of my trust in You.
