Psalm 4: 7-8 (ESV) You have put more joy in my heart
than …when…grain and wine abound.
In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Right circumstances don’t bring this kind of quiet contentment. Only when I crush my ‘natural’ reliance on things going ‘my way’, and rely on God and His goodness can I rest this evening and every day. This IS the new and abundant life, the Sabbath Rest.

50 word challenge and you succeeded! Love the phrase “abundant life.” That’s what we each want yet we behave in ways that bring us the “stressed out life.”
