I just listened to John Piper’s sermon (the 3rd in a series) about God’s view of marriage. This will enlarge your vision of marriage and inspire you, whether you are single, thriving in your marriage or struggling. You can listen or read at this link.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

What is his view on gay marriage? I believe our church organization (United Methodist) is in for a fierce battle in Conference this year over this issue and may cause a schism in our church. How do you remain Biblically based and allow ministers to marry gays? Tough subject. Your thoughts?
Blessings, Cathy
May you always walk in sunshine, may you never want for more, and may angels rest their wings right beside your door!

John Piper aligns with God’s definition in the Bible as clearly reiterated by Jesus in Mark 10: 6-9 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
Anything else is not marriage as God intended and is sin. Woe to those pastors who mislead their flock! I would not want to be them when they face God at the Day of Judgment!

I was thinking along the same lines as Cathy Johnson, above. Perhaps JP has another sermon on that topic.
But in my own life, I am so grateful for the loving husband I have, and for his grace toward me. In Chicago years ago when I was in college, I listened to a late night radio program called the Meisterbrau Showcase. The host ended each program with something I’ve not forgotten. Applied to my husband: I love you not only for who you are, but for who I am when I am with you. May that be true for others!
